Peak Performance Buoyancy
The purpose of the PADI Peak performance Buoyancy Specialty course is to polish a diver’s buoyancy control beyond the Open Water Dive level. The goal of this course is to enhance the student diver’s buoyancy control abilities through knowledge development and practical skills practice.
Course Prerequisites
*Be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver, Junior Open Water Diver or have a qualifying certification from another training organization
*Be at least 10 years old
*Complete the required paperwork
Required Equipment
Each student must have their own:
*Mask
*Snorkel
*Fins
*Boots (if appropriate for fins)
*Appropriate exposure suit
*We also recommend that by this point you also have your own BCD & Regulator Set
Required Materials
Each student diver must have a personal set of these materials for study and use during the course and for reference afterward:
*PADI Adventures in Diving Manual or Multimedia
*Log Book - Students are required to log specialty training dives in their log books.
Course Overview
This course includes two open water dives which may be conducted in one day. This course will cover the following buoyancy fundamentals:
*Buoyancy Check
*Fine-tuning neutral buoyancy during all segments of a dive
*Weight position and distribution for comfort & trim
*Streamlining
*Visualization
*PADI’s “Basic Weighting Guidelines”
*Hovering
Course Tuition
$75 - Includes Rental Gear (BCD, Regulator Set, Tanks, Weights), Training Sessions and Dives in Lake Pleasant.
